Why does a Tamil actress refuse to accept
her roots?

Adisaya
who featured in Vattaram as the second
heroine is a hard core Tamil girl raised
in Thanjavoor, Tamilnadu. She is very
proficient in Tamil but does not admit
the fact.
But
on occasions when she is required
to go up on the stage and speak, the
lady prefers only English. She openly
claims that she does not know Tamil.
This was evident during the audio
launch function of Vattaram. When
Adisaya was called upon the stage
to speak, she spoke in English only.
When questioned about this, she maintains
that she is not fluent enough in Tamil.
But she surprised everyone in switching
over to Tamil once she got down from
the podium. It is indeed very strange
that when girls from Kerala are trying
to speak in Tamil, our own Tamil girls
are too reluctant even to admit that
they are Tamilians.
Viewers
may recall that some time back Trisha
came under severe scanner from Vijaya
T Rajendar on her not speaking in Tamil
on the stage.
