It’s going to be clash of the titans.
Come August 15th, SUN TV which has till now
been the numero uno in television down south
will have stiff competition from none other
than their not so long ago patriarch.
Dr. Karunanidhi initiated, Kalaignar TV is
all set to go live in a couple of month’s
time.

Talking about the channel, Kalaignar Karunanidhi said:
“The DMK will not interfere in the administration
and other telecasting schedules of the channel. The Raj
TV Group will run the channel on behalf of the party.
We have already sent our application to the ministry of
Information and Technology to start this channel from
the 15th of August”. As expected, the logo of the
new channel will be rising Sun (Udhaya Suriyan), their
party logo. The official statement is expected to come
on June 3rd.
Sun TV which is always the fore-runner for getting rights
of popular and big budgeted movies was awed by the price
Kalaignar TV offered for the television rights of Rajinikanth’s
Sivaji. AVM has signed the dotted lines with Kalaignar
TV, giving the yet to be released television, their first
deal. This could just be the beginning, as all the film-makers
would be more than pleased to sell their television rights,
at higher rates.
With competition heating up between the two giants, the
viewers will be the end winners with better programs coming
their way.
