Veyil the brainchild of Vasanthabalan and
produced by Director Shankar, is to be screened
at the prestigious Cannes film festival. This
would be the first time that a Tamil film
will be screened in this international festival.
Veyil will be screened under the tous les
cinemas du monde (all the cinemas of the world)
section today (19th).

Apparently our own Maniratnam's national hit GURU will
also be screened under the same section on 20th. It is
indeed a proud moment for Tamil cinema as two of our best
directors Maniratnam and Shankar are taking India to the
world. Other six Indian movies selected for this section
include Saira (Malayalam), Missed Call (Hindi/English),
Dosar (Bengali), Dharm (Hindi) and Lage Raho Munnabhai
(Hindi).
