Amir brought in a fresh wave in Tamil
cinema with his Ram. The bold story
told with a sensitive approach won
the audience. The hero, Jeeva, who
made his debut in the film has gone
on to notch up a few successes. Meanwhile,
Amir did not get into the rut of too
many films and took his own time to
come up with his next film, Parutthiveeran.
The film’s story is based on
the real life experiences of a rebel
with a social cause who lived in the
southern district of Tamilnadu. |

For
this film, Amir has roped in Karthi, younger
brother of Surya. Both he and the heroine,
Priyamani have a deglamorized look to match
the story’s setting. Shooting for
the film is almost complete and Amir looked
at the rushes at the AVM recording theatre
this week. He has planned a few corrections
which he would shoot when the crew reaches
Madurai next week. The interesting thing
is at the time of watching the rushes, Amir
did not take any one else except close friend
and actor-director, Ponvannan. He believes
that the exclusivity of the story has to
be maintained till the release. |
