It’s
action time for ‘Boys’ Sindhurie |

Sindhurie was among the five debutantes
to get a look-in at ‘Boys’.
One saving grace of the film was the
way the characters were portrayed,
even though the storyline had an adult
theme offering quite a few embarrassing
moments for them. But no room for
complaints considering that the banner
was Surya Movies and the director
went by the name of Shankar.
In the film, Sindhurie had her moments
but only briefly. Her role in ‘Boys’
–where the focus was on the
lead pair Genelia and Siddarth –
was more like a pace setter in a marathon
or if you like it, more like a bridesmaid.

Doe-eyed
Sindhurie, who has a striking resemblance
to Bhanupriya, feels her career should
have taken off after ‘Boys’
better than it did. She appeared as
a village girl in ‘Thathi Thavudu
Manasu’ where she was all ‘covered
up’, a luxury she did not have
in ‘Boys’. As the college
girl in ‘Ennavo Pudichiruku’,
Sindhurie could fire on all her cylinders.
She was in the lead role and the centre
of attraction.
Right now, Sindhurie has her hopes
pinned on ‘Niram’, a movie
she compares with the recently released
‘Kodambakkam’. |

“This
is about the trials and travails of the technicians
who have to face a lot of difficulties before
a film sees the light of day,” says
Sindhurie. |
|
As
the orthodox brahmin girl in her forthcoming
‘Kannamapettai’, who gets bowled
over by a small-time guy, she has won over
a lot of admirers. With more films of the
same genre crowding the theatres, the fatigue
factor cannot be discounted. But, with ‘Shambu’,
a Malayalam movie due for release, Sindhurie
might at last get the laurels, and good
offers that she rightly deserves. |
