While the whole world is gaga over
his next directorial venture, Sivaji,
Shankar has quietly been monitoring
the making of Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi.
The full length comedy with Vadivelu
in the lead is directed by young Simbudevan
and is said to be a spoof on contemporary
politics with a period touch. As is
his wont, this film produced by Shankar
is also on a moderate budget. But,
as suggested in the title, there is
a lot of imsai for distributors. Those
who approached for the rights thinking
that the Kadhal success story could
be renewed were taken aback by the
