There was a quite a buzz at the Cancer
Institute at Adyar in Chennai. It
played host to two celebrity guests
– Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek
Bachan. They had come to inaugurate
the new children’s ward at the
hospital. Organized by the Mahesh
Memorial Trust, the duo had come as
a goodwill gesture for music director
Mahesh, who died of cancer and who
was a good friend of Manirathnam and
Kamal Hassan. There was heavy security
at the hospital which normally maintains
a low profile over the visits by celebrities.
