Arya
charges ahead in ‘Auto’ |

Arya,
while travelling in his auto, never would
have expected that, he, of all people, would
be the target of baddies. The toughies appeared
from nowhere, did some rough talk and scooted
off with his auto. Arya, boiling with anger,
is not one to let the bad guys be one up
on him. He gave a chase, caught the guys
by their scruffy shirt-collars and gave
them a sound bashing, till they all cried,
‘Stop!” |
|
|
Or
rather till the director called, “Cut!”
That was Arya on the sets of his new
movie ‘Auto’, where he
is playing the role of a tough nut
with a soft interior.
Tough it surely is and it takes several
movies or several years for heroes
to make the smooth transition from
being a lover boy to an action hero.
But Arya seems to have managed it
in such a short span of time, showing
another facet of his talent with his
power-packed performance in ‘Pattiyal.’
The ease with which the soft-looking
Arya has got into the skin of the
ruffian as ‘Kosi’ has
made people in Kollywood sit up and
take notice of him.

Arya
now enjoys the reputation of being an actor
who can transform himself to any character.
He says, “I just did what the director
told me to do and had no idea that this
become this big.” ‘Pattiyal’
made by Vishnuvardhan, has held its own
despite competition from other releases
and the arrival of Arya has brought cheers
to the Tamil film circuit. |
Arya has become one of the most saleable
actors today and the strides he continues
to take should be an inspiration for
newcomers.
Now the expectations are going up
after ‘Pattiyal’ and people
expect him to better his performances
in each successive effort.

‘Auto’,
in which he is starring with Pooja, has
a lot of scope for him to increase his fan
following and the movie, truly in tune with
its title, is being shot not on film sets,
but mostly on actual locales. So, the next
time you some kerfuffle going on in the
auto-stands, road sides, slums etc., do
look around for a suave looking ‘auto’
guy, Arya is bound to be there! |
