The recently released Veyil and Paruthi Veeran have received critical acclaim from everyone and were successful commercially too. The USP of these movies were said to be their spontaneity sans the forced constants that generally figure in Tamil films. Director Ameer's earlier film Ram with Jeeva

in the lead was also a much talked about film and has won awards in Cyprus international film festival. Now his Paruthi Veeran is also anticipated to win awards at Cannes film festival.
