Sivaji, the much hyped film was initially scheduled to release on 14th of April which is Tamil New Year's day. Subsequently it was changed to April 12th and the audio release was fixed for the 4th of April. Meanwhile three songs from the film were leaked to the portals of the web in an unauthorized manner.

This had prompted the film crew to advance the original date of audio release from 4th April to 26th March. This again is changed and as per the latest industry source, the songs will be released officially on 2nd April.
As regards the film, it was said to hit the screens by the last week of April or 1st week of May. April 26th had perfectly matched the sentiments of Rajnikanth and Shankar too. There is yet again a change in this date and industry sources reveal that 17th of May will see the emergence of Sivaji on the big screens all over the world. Interestingly it is a Thursday good enough for super star and also for Shankar whose lucky number is eight.
