The living legends of the Malayalam film industry, writer M.T.Vasudevan Nair and director Hariharan are joining hands for the making of Pazhassi Raja, a period film on the freedom struggle in Kerala. The latest buzz is that Sarath Kumar has

been offered a very important and meaty role in the movie. Credible sources from Kollywood say that Sarath who has been eyeing substantive roles for a long time did not think twice before grabbing this opportunity. In fact Sarath was so inspired and overwhelmed with the role offered to him in the movie that he readily agreed to reduce his salary to a mere Rs. 15 lakh, just to be a part of it.
This movie will be the maiden appearance of the actor in Malayalam, which will also have Mammootty in the lead. The legendary trio of M.T.Vasudevan Nair, Hariharan & Mammootty was the one which gave Malayalam cinema it's one of the biggest blockbusters - Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha.
Readers might also remember Mammooty making his debut in Tamil with Mounam Sammatham, long back, in which Sarath Kumar also played a small role.
