Some people have a rather poor sense of humor
or they lose their sense of humor when it
is at their expense. Vijay TV airs Lollu Sabha
every Friday and makes complete mockery of
a movie in each episode. In a recent episode
they chose Pokkiri as their object of amusement
and the show went down quite well with many
viewers; it had good moments.

However, the director of this show picked out one of the
performers of Pokkiri for special treatment. The performer’s
mannerisms were mimicked and overdone to the point of
hamming. Expectedly, the actor or someone close to the
actor had seen this episode and was greatly enraged.
This person being quite powerful in the film industry
managed to bring the director and producer of the show
on their knee. They were reportedly asked to tender a
personal apology which they did. Further, the episode
was not aired again. The future of the show too looks
cloudy. This is a classic example of the high and the
mighty wielding power.
Though it was completely an unwarranted act from the television
show team, the actor and his confidante would do well
in taking one thing into note. People who are mocked at
are ones who are worth something. No one prefers to scrutinize
the funny side of someone who is worth nothing. Traditionally,
the greatest of great Superstars have all been mocked
and mimicked, just for them to take it in their stride.
