It is not common for a stuntman to take up play back singing. But we have stunt master Kanal Kannan crooning for a song in Bharath starrer Khilladi.It was director A.Venkatesh who convinced music director Srikanth Deva to give a chance to Kanal Kannan who has acted in small roles in movies.
but this is for the first time that he is into play back singing. Usually Srikanth Deva's music would be fast numbers and hence there are talks that the song recorded with Kanal Kannan could be a "gana" song. But sources close to the director say that the director was impressed with Kanal Kannan's melodious songs that he sings during the shoots. Recently we had actor Vivek making his debut as a singer in Solli Adippaen under Deva's music. "It is a gana song with pucca Madras tamizh in it" said Vivek.
