The happenings in the ongoing saga of the Tamil
Film Producers’ council get more and more
murkier. After the avoidable hungama over the
removal of the President and the ensuing legal
order to close the premises, Thyagarajan resigned
from the post. A.M. Ratnam was nominated as
the ad hoc president. Meanwhile, at a meeting
of the council yesterday, secretary of the Madurai
and Ramanathapuram districts distributors association
Anbuchezhian was reportedly intimidated over
the mobile phone with death threats. Anbuchezian
lodged a complaint with the Thousand Lights
Police Station and ordered arrest of Sivasakthi
Pandian named in the complaint. He was taken
to the Egmore court. Sivasakthi Pandian also
filed a case against Anbuchezhian, which was
also taken up for hearing. Watch this space
for more developments.
