About fifty people including Actor Sarath Kumar
were hurt when the stage from which Sarath Kumar
was to address his fans, an excited crowd of some
twenty thousand people, collapsed on Saturday.
Luckily, the actor was whisked away seconds after
the collapse. Reports tell that Sarath Kumar had
only minor bruises. Though there was security
around the stage, the milling crowd simply couldn’t
be controlled. The ropes that were holding the
stage gave way. A sudden downpour added to the
confusion. With the ropes that were tied to a
nearby transformer structure pulling down, there
was a short circuit in the grid. It had to be
shut down immediately. A pandemonium broke in
the darkness.
When we contacted Sarath Kumar’s residence,
there was no one to give the exact picture. Radhika
