Stars not just earn good money, they are also
smart in investing it wisely. Their eagerness
to save for the rainy day drives them towards
established avenues as well as new and exciting
ventures. For example, it is common to find actors
and actresses acquiring prime property as real
estate shows tremendous appreciation. Rajinikanth,
Vijayakanth, Vijay, Prashanth and Sneha are known
to be deeply interested in picking up chunks of
property. International star Aishwarya Rai has
created headlines by announcing to plonk Rs.10
crores in a windmill project in Maharashtra. |

Maharashtra
is known to be a power-starved state in India.
The state government has been planning to install
plants for generating electricity from renewable
energy sources like wind, tidal waves etc. Last
year there was a proposal to launch one such project.
It invited celebrities to invest in the project.
Aish and Sachin Tendulkar showed some interest.
But, they backed out after they found the terms
uninteresting. Now, the government has repackaged
the scheme with liberal tax holidays and other
sops. Therefore, Aish has decided to go ahead
with the investment. More celebrities are expected
to follow suit.
The windmill project will come up at Thanthane
village in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra.
It would have a capacity of 2.5 megawatt.
Current heartthrob Surya has also invested in
a windmill project in Tamilnadu.
