RDB is already a smash hit with the urban yuppie
crowd. The hard hitting film has struck a chord
in the minds of the youth. At IIT, Madras, there
was a special screening of the film followed by
an interaction with the film’s director,
Rakeysh Mehra and producer Ronnie Screwvala. Actor
Madhavan also participated. All of them fielded
questions from the students gathered. While Ronnie
said that the film was the highest grosser in
recent history, Madhavan said that although his
role was a small one it was pivotal to the story.
He had agreed to do the film only because of Aamir.
He appreciated Aamir for his generosity in retaining
a low profile in the film. The netizens of IIT
blogged away about the film and soon it was picked
up by students at University of Miami, who have
decided to screen the film on their campus. |
They have also decided to institute a regular
mechanism to screen good Indian films at the University.
Thrilled by this development, Madhavan thanked
the students at IIT and hoped that the film would
be liked by all. Besides, A.R. Rahman would also
be touring the US under the Global Rhythm music
ensemble and perform at various American Universities.
Some songs would be chosen from RDB as well. So,
you could hear Roobaroo and Masti ki patshala
soon on American campuses. |
