Men in Black star Will Smith was in India last
week. Will, along with Denzel Washington represents
the glamorous face of current African-American
stars of Hollywood carrying on from Sidney Poitier
and Morgan Freeman. Will was in the country to
launch a movie channel titled Pix. At the launch,
he was at his ebullient best thanking the organizers
for their traditional Indian hospitality and cracked
quite a few jokes. He also remarked that he had
not met Aishwarya Rai but would do anything to
work in a film with her. Well, he did keep his
word. He met the ravishing Ash and at the end
of the one hour meeting came the news that things
are being discussed about a possible film with
him and her in the lead. |
He was completely bowled over by the Indian beauty,
who presented a silk saree to his wife, actress
Juda Panqett. Will’s manager, James Lazier
announced that once Ash gave some firm commitments
on dates, the contract could be readied. Both
should have worked last year in director Andy
Dermont’s film, but things did not work
out then. Now, the multi-million dollar project
would be produced by Will himself. Ash’s
other international films in the pipeline are
Provoked and the Lost Legion. So, finally the
internationally acclaimed Indian beauty is all
set to strike it big in Hollywood! |
