A stitch in time… Balachandar’s advice on Sivaji

Hotel green park became host for the launching ceremony of new flick ‘Chakkara Viyugam’ on June 30, 2007 at 11.00 a.m. Veterans of Tamil cinema including Balachandar and S.P Muthuraman attended the ceremony and wished the crew well. Chakkara Viyugam is directed by Mageswaran who already hit the limelight in Kodambakkam with the average grosser Naalai.

The movie will have Nattu Natraj of Naalai fame playing the lead and Daisy as his female counterpart. Music is scored by Karthick Raja.

Apparently skeptical on the ‘Tamilness’ of the title, Balachander advised the crew in his speech to verify if Chakkara Viyugam is a Tamil name so as to avoid any confusion in the tax rebate issue at a later stage. ‘There are opinion differences even about Sivaji’s title and people think it is not a Tamil name. I suggest that the name Chakkara Viyugam be checked to be double sure if it was Tamil or Sanskrit so as to be sure,’ Balachander opined.
