In a tragic incident yesterday Kollywood’s
talented upcoming director Jeeva passed away
after suffering a heart attack. This unexpected
loss has been a great shock to the entire
film fraternity. Jeeva was in Russia along
with the crew of Dhaam Dhoom when he suffered
the heart attack. The crew had been shooting
in Russia under tough weather conditions for
nearly 40 days and the schedule had just been
wrapped up.
The crew was slated to return to Chennai later today.
Jeeva began his career in films as a cameraman and later
turned to direction. 12B was his first directorial venture.
Ullam Ketkume followed later and his latest release was
Unnale Unnale which was the biggest success of his career.
He also directed Abhishek bachchan in the hindi remake
of Madhavan’s ‘Run’. Jeeva was just
beginning to grow in stature as a director but fate has
cruelly snatched this talented individual from us.
He is survived by wife Anneesha and three children. Jeeva
had converted to Islam upon marriage. He is also survived
by his sister who is married to director Vasanth.
We at Behindwoods deeply mourn the untimely death of Jeeva.
