VIPs’ insistence on Dhanam |

Dhanam with Sangeetha in the lead is nearing
completion. Sangeetha plays a meaty role in
the movie, which is said to revolve around
the life of a commercial sex worker played
by her. Directed by Siva who was associated
with Balachander as chief cameraman during
latter’s stint with television in popular
sitcoms such as Kasalavu Nesam and Premi,
the movie will have maestro Ilayaraja scoring
for it.

While director Siva was apprehensive about some areas
in the script that he felt to be scrapped, his mentor
Balachander seems to have advised him otherwise. It is
like tight rope walking and if you delete these scenes,
the essence of the movie would be lost, were his mentor’s
words; Siva was quoted as saying. Besides, Ilayaraja has
also expressed extreme satisfaction over the script that
he advised Siva not to snip any pivotal scenes from the
script for fear of controversy.
Well, with two biggies backing Dhanam we are sure the
movie has something to look forward to.
