Ashutosh Gowarikar, acclaimed for Lagaan and
Swades, is all set to reach epic proportions
with his latest movie, Jodha-Akbar. J-A stars
Hrithik Roshan as Akbar and Aishwarya Rai
(sorry Bachchan) as Jodha Bhai. The movie
has already stirred the hornet’s nest,
as people don’t want to misinterpret
the relationship between Jodha and Akbar.

Amid all these controversies, Ashutosh Gowarikar was unable
to screen the movie in Cannes as he wished to, but was
able to show the promo of this historical epic. The slick
and stylish trailer exclusively screened for Cannes, impressed
many international distributors and officials from other
film festivals alike. The reactions Ashutosh received
for the movie was amazing. The most impressive aspect
of the trailer was a scene where Hrithik fights an elephant.
Hrithik, considered to be the Indian Rambo, is the only
star in Indian cinema that could make this scene believable.
What do you say?
Apart from this, Cannes', a magazine rated Ashutosh Gowarikar
as one of the top 60 people to watch out for at the festival
this year. This director is sure poised for greater heights.
