Shaam had a miraculous escape a few days back
while he was shooting in ‘Go Island’
near Pattaya in Bangkok for the film Thoondil
which is being directed by Adiyaman. The scene
had required Shaam to ride a Jet Ski boat
from the middle of the ocean to the shore.

While he was rehearsing for this scene with his friend
cum assistant Satish in the ocean, a big rock like thing
made him swivel the boat, the velocity of which made Satish
fall off from the boat. The next moment Shaam found himself
being dragged into the ocean. He somehow managed with
his meager knowledge of swimming at the pool but saw Satish
battling for his life. As the film crew was far off they
could not come to the rescue and finally a few Chinese
who were present there saved Shaam and Satish and admitted
them to the hospital.
As Shaam was suffering from shock, he came back to normalcy
soon but doctors had to struggle to bring his friend back
to life. Understandably the actor was overwhelmed with
emotion when he was recounting this incident. Later he
learnt from the local folks that the place is too dangerous
for anyone to set foot in and it was by shear luck and
by God’s grace that they are alive today. Subsequently
the crew shot the scene on the shore and got back.
