We spoke to her at the Muni launch and this is what she had to say: "I am not against acting in films with two heroines or with senior heroes. All that matters is the story, and my role and character in that script. For instance, in Sakkarakatti, I'm acting with a young hero Shantanu." About glamour roles, Vedhika's clarity is sound. "I don't think it is wrong to perform in glamour roles, as long as it is not vulgar."

But this is what we thought was rather, shall we say, different, as more and more Tamil film heroines are veering towards that chic, svelte look, Vedhika is on a different track. "I am well aware of the tastes of Tamil audiences for slightly chubby heroines. In fact, I am right now following a regime to put on a little weight! One thing I am sure of is the drive to attain the top place in the Tamil film industry. And I am sure I will grab that spot, and that can even be the number one slot."
