As we had reported earlier, the
actual IIFA film festival that will
screen 32 Indian films, began on
the second day of the overall event.
With the premier of the film Chandramukhi,
the festival kicked off with quite
a good start.
Jointly inaugurated by both the
brand ambassador for IIFA, Amitabh
Bachchan, and actor Prabhu from
the South Indian film industry,
the inaugural was also attended
by P Vasu, the director of the film.

The
Superstar, who is busy with his shooting
for Sivaji, was however unable to
attend.
Both Vasu and Prabhu were delighted
to be a part of such a prestigious
event, which is even touted to be
the Indian Oscars. Together they expressed
their appreciation and also the message
that the Superstar had sent, stating,
""Rajni sir sends his best
wishes to IIFA, the people of Dubai
and his fans and wishes the festival
all success." |

In
an attempt to dispel the fact that Indian
movies are not just about Bollywood and
Hindi films, Amitabh further said that the
fact was the Telugu film industry churned
out more movies than any other industry!
He even complimented the technical brilliance
and the commercial value of film in Tamil
Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. |
