While
most of the top actresses get enough print
and electronic space in the media, the guys
are usually left behind. The man who has slowly
but steadily built a niche for him is none
other than Surya. |
|
|
Surya who is now the most sought
after hero after the success of
Ghajini is now seen endorsing nearly
half a dozen products including
TVS motorbikes, Sunfeast biscuits
and Pepsi cola. It has been a long
journey for the chocolate hero to
the prodigal son to the dashing
cop. Ask him about his role in Jillenu
Oru Kadhal, with his (who else?)
Jo, he flashes a shy smile. “It’s
a romantic tale but has several
dimensions to it. The film is complete
but for a song which would soon
be shot in Canada”.
|
|
|
Ask him why it has taken so long to finish
the film, he said, “I heard the
story even before Ghajini but could not
find the time to accommodate dates. The
wait is however worth it. It’s a
sensitive film much different from the
masala and violence.”
The same team as Ghajini is at work in
Jillenu Oru Kadhal. But, Gowtham Menon’s
associate Krishna is the director. R D
Rajasekhar is the cinematographer. A R
Rahman’s music is said to be simply
out of the world. The special point is
a song sung by ARR himself.

And
to the all important question? Marriage? “It
would most definitely be at the end of the
year” signs off Surya with his unmistakable
smile. |
