He has been chosen to be the music
composer for an English film titled
‘Nine lives of Mara’.
Speaking about the opportunity an
excited Ganesh said, “My friend
Balaji wanted to be a director. After
protracted struggle, he landed the
chance to direct ‘Nine lives
of Mara.’ Upon his advice, I
applied to be the music composer for
the film. Here it is the director
who decides the composer. There a
committee listens to scores from different
musicians and then chooses one. Of
the nearly 100 applicants, most were
Americans and I was the only Indian.
It gives me immense pleasure that
I have been able to make an impression.
This would encourage more and more
Indians to try in Hollywood. It is
an unwritten rule that music should
be composed only at their studios
there. As a special permission, I
would work from Chennai. The film
is slated for release in September.
After this, I would be working on
a film by KB and then another international
project as well”. Way to go,
man! Keep the banner flying! |
