Revealing the reason for postponing, Sources say that
as many actors and actresses had prior commitments and
expressed their inability to participate in the show it
was decided unanimously to shift the event to a later
date.
Noted film personalities including Bharathiraja, Vijaya
T Rajendar, Parthiban, Thangar Bachchan, Radha Ravi, Manorama,
Vijayakumar, Sathyaraj, Sri Priya, Vikram, Madhavan, Ramya
Krishnan, Sneha will participate in the inaugural show.
Other cultural events will, however, take place as planned.
On August 6th the show will kick-off with the screening
of “Nadigar Thilagam” Sivaji Ganesan’s
historical Veerapandia Kattabomman. This will be followed
by screening of several movies everyday, including Pallikoodam
and Arya. Many of the film personalities will attend these
shows.
In addition to music shows, a special pattimandram is
also being hosted where actors and well-known debaters
will participate.
Followed by the October 6th star night show, another mega
show has been planned in San Francisco on November 21,
22 and 23. And the grand finale, which will top up the
previous events, will be held in Chennai during January
2008.
All the events are organised by Sarath Kumar, President
of South Indian Actors’ Association and S.A. Chandrashekar,
President of Tamil Film Producers’ Sangam along
with other members of both the associations. |
