Meanwhile it was reported that this place is becoming the abode of naxals and permission to shoot here further was denied to the film crew owing to security reasons.

However director Bala has convinced the authorities that Periyakulam is after all a place where he has spent most of his life and that he knows the locals very well. Having said that he has promised the police that no untoward incident will happen and he would take every precaution needed to maintain peace in the place.
