But the situation is not satisfactory where women directors
are concerned. Even the famous actress Revathy has directed
a Hindi movie but none in Tamil so far.
Kanda Naal Mudhal broke this barrier with V. Priya
directing the movie which went on to be a big hit. Kollywood
will soon find another lady director wielding the megaphone.
And this time it is Gautham Menon’s assistant
Madhumitha. The lady will be directing Vallamai Tharayo.
Women, long considered as glamour dolls in the film
industry, have broken one more male bastion.
