Padmapriya who stole many a hearts with her
intense performance in films like Thavamai
Thavamirundu and Pattiyal is currently busy
shooting for ‘Mirugam’ in Madurai.
Rumors were rife that the shooting of the
film was brought to a standstill for two days
by her.

When the matter was probed, Padmapriya clarified the issue
saying that she had expressed her displeasure dancing
for a few vulgar movements in a song sequence and stayed
in her make-up room for a couple of hours.
She further adds, “I had accepted the film as my
character had immense acting potential and had also signed
the contract saying that I will not appear glamorous in
the film. They had agreed to my conditions initially and
now at the shooting spot they behave in a different fashion”.
The particular dance sequence had some lewd movements
as suggested by director Sami and the actress refusing
to dance, fled to the makeup room. This had delayed the
shoot and eventually the movements were altered and the
actress completed the shoot.
Padmapriya also states that such differences of opinion
between the artists and directors are common occurrences
in the shooting spots and there is no need to blow things
out of proportion and brand her as an actress with ‘an
attitude’. |
