If
you are an ardent movie buff and love movies
with a village backdrop and most importantly
you are familiar with these kind of movies
a decade ago, we are sure you would still
remember R V Udayakumar. Like, who would
forget his ‘Kizhakku Vasal’
and ‘Chinna Koundar.’ |
|
|
This
time around Udayakumar maintains
a low profile. Ups and downs are
synonymous in life and with this
profession, I am pretty aware of
that, Udayakumar acknowledges.
The
director showcased to the media,
a few images of Rajini, which was
unreleased before. Is he already
working for Rajini’s next
venture? Our curiosity got the most
out of us. Those were for his dropped
venture ‘Jilla Collector’
even before ‘Yejaman’
Udayakumar says. So what happened
with that movie? Why was it dropped?
|
|
|
Udayakumar
says Rajini met him in the ‘Kizhakku
Vasal’ function and expressed his
wish to work with him. Soon after, the director
met the Superstar with his fully loaded
truck of stories and Rajini selected ‘Jilla
Collector’ out of that. The elated
director dons Rajini with all the stills
and later got busy with ‘Ponnumani’
the reason why the movie is dropped. Later,
Rajini wanted to do a village subject and
‘Yejaman’ was made, Udayakumar
says. |
|
What
is he upto these days? Rajini met
Udayakumar in the sets of his upcoming
project ‘Sivaji’ and was
ready to ask him if there was any
story an overjoyed Uday exclaims.
He says that he has narrated a story
line to Rajini and the impressed superstar
has asked the once successful director
to develop the story and meet him
with the final script. He even hinted
that Rajini will be in double role
playing the father and son and surprisingly
the father will be villain. |

Udayakumar
has not lost a drop of his confidence and
is busy these days writing his script for
the superstar. Well we assured him of his
success. Yeah I know good things are going
to happen, Udayakumar declares.
Will it be another ‘Yejaman’
or another ‘Jilla Collector’.
Time will tell. |
