Sun TV live telecast the Sivaji statue

So
the much awaited unveiling ceremony of veteran
thespian Sivaji Ganesan’s statue would
be held today at 6.30 p.m. The statue would
be located on Kamarajar Salai off the Marina.
The government has stepped up the preparations
briskly once the legal hurdles were cleared.

The
whole area is wearing a festive look
with a large army of workers getting
the site ready for the visitors. A
glittering audience is expected to
attend the function to pay homage
to one of the finest actors the world
has seen. The entire film fraternity
in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada
besides MPs and MLAs are expected
to be there. Sivaji’s family
including wife Kamala, sons Ramkumar
and Prabu would be cynosure of all
eyes. Rajinikanth is rushing from
Delhi while Kamal is flying in from
Mumbai.

president of Sivaji Ganesan fans’
association Boominathan has exhorted
the fans to come in great numbers
and they are pouring in from all parts
of Tamilnadu.
Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ association
has released a statement thanking
Mr.Karunanidhi for the measures he
took to erect the statue of Sivaji. |

TV which telecast the Kannagi Statue event
live, would not be doing it again because
there would be no chance to insert commercials
in live. When enquired the channel, they
said that they are discussing the options.
So, keeping in mind the immense appeal of
the occasion, they might telecast the complete
event on any Sunday as a recorded program.
That makes business sense as well. |
