It
takes a lot to make a film’s
music tick. The audience looks for
something different in the offering.
Big names, big banners do not necessarily
assure success. However, there is
quite a bit of marketing savvy which
brings about the change in audience
perception. Take the case of two competing
albums, Vallavan and Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu.
While Yuvan’s score in Vallavan
is not quite top drawer stuff, Harris
has experimented a little in VV with
good effect. Nevertheless, despite
the adulation for VV, it is Vallavan
which is doing brisk business.
