“Be a latecomer to attract everybody” - Bhavana
July 16, 2006
Bhavana
It is believed to be fashionable to be late. At any function, party or event, if you go on or ahead of time, you would be viewed either as naïve or downright stupid. Only those who create a buzz by making a belated appearance hog all the attention. The hosts and other guests would fall over each other to shake hands with the latecomer. Film folks and guys in the fashion world are notorious for this habit. It is so because the media coverage feeds on the hype that the celebrities who come hours after the scheduled time are much sought after and have tight schedules.
Young Bhavana also seems to be suffering from this coming-late syndrome. At any launch or film event, the girl is always behind time. Recently for the Naan Kadavul launch, she came late as she did for the launch of Deepavali. What does she have to say about this? Predictable. “Only if you go late, everyone would be waiting for you. You could then catch everyone’s attention. It would also give you an aura of importance.” But, dear Bhavana don’t you know that it is discourteous or plain rudeness to take the others waiting for granted?
