On
Wednesday night, the AIDMK office
was abuzz with activities. People
were rushing about here and there.
Finally, the party’s secretary
and former minister D Jayakumar called
the police and complained about anonymous
calls that the office had received.
Sources tell us that the caller threatened
to blow up the office with bombs and
that five more places were targeted
by a group of five extremists who
had come to Chennai especially for
this purpose.

The
caller had even given a contact number.
Checking out the address from the
telephone number, the police rushed
to the location only to be stonewalled.
The address belonged to Sivakumar,
Surya’s father.
Sivakumars were not at home when the
police reached the spot. Later the
veteran actor dialed the commissioner
and said that a man called Kasi from
Malaysia had earlier sought him out
for Surya’s dates.

When
he was turned back, the man left in a huff.
That morning once again he had called up
and said that was the price the Sivakumars
had to pay—names appearing in newspapers!
The police are now in a manhunt for this
Kasi. |
