This
pair of siblings also comes from a
high profile family in the Tamil and
Telugu industry. Yet, it has so far
found limited success. Compared to
Raja and Ravi and Selvaraghavan and
Dhanush, the Krishna brothers –
Jyothi and Ravi have not exactly set
the box office on fire. Sons of noted
producer, A.M. Rathnam, Jyothikrishna’s
first film Enakku 20 Unakku 18 failed
to excite the audience despite the
exuberant lead pair of Tarun and Trisha
Rahman’s sensational music.

Younger
brother Ravikrishna has only had a
string of forgettable films, the only
silver lining being Ponniyin Selvan
last year. Now both of them have got
together hoping that their new project,
KD, would establish them and set the
cash registers ringing.
The film has been in the making for
over a year now. Talking about the
film Jyothi said, “It is an
interesting story. In fact, it is
one of the four scripts I had readied
for Enakku 20 Unakku 18. |

While
the film was appreciated by many, it bombed
for several reasons. Now, I and Ravi have
a big responsibility to prove ourselves.
Just because it is a home production, it
has not been easy. Minute planning and total
control has been followed. The film is ready
and should hit the screens in August. Ravi
has an exciting role and he has done superbly.
The heroines, Ileana and Tamanna were newcomers
when we offered KD, but have now become
popular in Telugu. After this film, their
stock is bound to rise further.”
