Looks
like Sarath Kumar might win the post of
president for the Nadigar Sangham unanimously
as no one has contested against his nomination. |

Elections
that are scheduled for July 30th,
for various posts in the South Indian
Artistes Association, have received
enthusiastic responses from various
celebrities in the industry, including
a lot from the younger generation.
Sarath Kumar, on his return from the
US, filed his nomination for the post
of president, while other artistes
who have filed for the post of vice
president are Manorama and Vijayakumar,
while it is Radha Ravi for the post
of secretary and Kalai for the post
of treasurer. |

Actors
like Sathyaraj, Murali, Abbas, Prashanth,
Silambarasan, Alex, veteran actor Srikanth,
Senthil, Praveen, Gundu Kalyanam, AK.Rajendran,
A.K , Velu, R.Veeramani, Sripriya, Vindhiya,
Mumtaz and Pasi Sathya have filed nominations
to be a part of the executive committee.
Mylapore district MLA, S Ve Shekar has also
filed nominations for the post of vice president,
while also contesting for the post of an
executive member as an independent candidate.
|
|
Yesteryear actor Nallathambi has filed
nominations for the post of treasurer.
The interesting point in all this
is the fact that most of the candidates,
who have filed nominations, unequivocally
accepting Sarath Kumar as president,
are all from AIADMK like he is. Thanks
to younger generation artistes like
Simbhu, Prashanth, Abbas, Vindhiya
and Mumtaz, involving themselves this
elections, it looks like the SIAA
sure is headed in the right direction. |

Sarath
Kumar, on the other hand, is on cloud number
nine as he has not met any opposition to
his nomination, and has stated that if he
wins, then the first thing he will do as
the president is to build a Nadigar Sangham
building that will come with a "wedding
hall, recreation club, conference halls,
film library, etc." and the income
thus generated will be used for the welfare
of its members.
