Fans

The
Rajinikanth fiasco with his fans has now
reached a new level, as angry fans are planning
to protest outside his residence by staging
a hunger strike. The fans who were removed
from the club issued a legal notice a couple
of days back, and now they have decided
to gather for a hunger strike against their
thalaivar - Rajinikanth. |
|
|
Their
common complaint is simply this: "It
has been almost 15 years since Rajini
met his fans. His fans are clueless
and are lost without a visible leader.
There are no proper directives anymore
and there is total chaos. It is important
and necessary for the Superstar to
meet with his fans immediately, and
to do so district-wise. Scores of
fans want to meet him personally to
share their problems with him.
For the last 15 years his fans have
been trying to contact him, but so
far there have been no responses.
Now, with this new decision of deleting
names from the association, it is
very disturbing. We severely condemn
this reckless attitude of the All
India Association of Rajini fan club
and its president, Sathyanarayana."

|
But
that is not all. The reason for the hunger
strike is not just to catch Rajini's attention,
but is a means of reaching some kind of
concrete conclusion. "For this strike,
we are going to seek police permission too.
We will conduct the fast in any of the three
locations: outside Rajinikanth's residence
in Poes Garden, opposite the Raghavendra
Mandapam or in Triplicane, where Rajini
sat for his Cauvery fast. After we get permission
from the police, we will request the fans
from all over Tamil Nadu to join us in our
protest. |
|
Some
of the issues that we wish to tackle
through this fast are to ask Rajini
to start a trust for the weaker sections
of people in his fan associations
and to resume the educational loans
that were given before. This is apart
from requesting the star to take back
the sincere Rajini fan club office
bearers like Pondicherry Shankar,
Thanjavur Humayun, Sivagangai Ravichandran,
and Siva. Rajinikanth and the Head
Office should certainly rethink their
decision, keeping in mind the valuable
service and sacrifice these members
have shown to the club, its activities
and to Rajnikanth." |
|
|
|
Fans
from all over Coimbatore and the surrounding
areas attended the meeting to plan the elaborate
hunger strike. Will Rajini find the time
to listen to the pleas of his fans? Or,
will he, as usual, concentrate on Sivaji
and Sivaji alone?
