Ash

again! |

Cinema,
it is said, works to a large extent on luck.
You need to be there at the right time,
in the right project, with the right role.
The opportunity to act with some of the
stalwarts on screen rarely comes twice,
but in Aishwarya Rai's case, it has come
twice and both times the actress has rejected
it. |

|
If readers will recall, she was
approached to act in Chandramukhi
with Superstar Rajnikanth, but due
to date problems, Aishwarya had
to decline the offer. She was later
offered a role in Rajnikanth's upcoming
film, Sivaji, and again the actress
cited date problems.
Now the latest buzz is that, she
has been approached for a role in
the Hindi remake of Chandramukhi
by T Series, and Aishwarya has declined
the offer yet again.

With Akshay Kumar as one of the
actors in the film, the Hindi version
is being directed by Priyadarshan.
In fact, many reports claim that
Aishwarya has been approached for
this blockbuster not once, but four
times from four different industries!
First it was the Bangalore-based
producer Dwarkesh, then it was P
Vasu for Tamil, then director Naren
Aditya and writer Hyder from Tollywood
and now a well-known Mumbai producer
for the Hindi remake

Due
to her earlier commitments to films like
'The Last Legion' in Russia, 'Umrao Jaan',
'Dhoom II' and 'Akbar-Jodha' Ash's business
manager claims that she is unable to commit
to any further venture. But Ash sure does
manage her dates very well when it comes
to a Manirathnam venture. Looks like, the
international face has time for directors
like Manirathnam, but when it comes to other
commercial ventures (that have more than
proved their mettle at the box office),
she seldom deigns an assent. We wonder why….
