After
visiting Sri Sai Baba in Chennai,
superstar Rajnikanth was in Andhra
Pradesh to be part of the Vajrotsavam
function to commemorate the seventy
five years of Telugu film industry;
many luminaries belonging to film
industry were felicitated. This function
was attended by
distinguished
people like the governor of Andhra Pradesh, Ambareesh
the actor cum politician from Karnataka, and Subbi
Rama Reddy along with a host of other dignitaries.
The event witnessed singer S P Balasubramanian
taking the role of a host. He invited Ambareesh
to the stage in Kannada which brought huge claps
from the crowd. Ambareesh while speaking called
himself the son-in-law of Andhra Pradesh as his
wife hails from Andhra.
When veteran Akkineni Nageswara Rao was called
upon to the stage, he was presented with a shawl
by Super Star Rajnikanth who fell at his feet
and sought his blessings. Chiranjeevi, the Telugu
matinee idol gifted Nageswara Rao with a medal.
This function witnessed the honoring of many prominent
personalities of filmdom.
After attending the celebrations at Andhra Pradesh,
superstar rushed back to Chennai to attend the
cricket match between India and West Indies today.
Rajnikanth was seen along with his daughters and
son-in-law Dhanush enjoying the cricket match
from close quarters. Rajnikanth was wearing his
usual black cap and Dhanush was wearing the Indian
team's blue shirt as the star family cheered for
the home team.
