Rahman, who celebrated his 40th birthday
on January 6th thinks that life begins
only at forty. Besides, Rahman who
has been busy ever since he hogged
the limelight with Maniratnam’s
Roja feels that he is growing old.
I am no longer young but I am trying
to revive my childhood days with my
children,
Rahman was quoted as saying during an interview.
Incidentally, Rahman’s younger son celebrates
his birthday on January 6 too. Rahman, father
of three – Khatija, Rahima, and Amin –
stated that his early days as a youngster have
been lost since he grew up with people older than
him. Suddenly I feel that I am old. I realise
that I am entering a vital phase of my life, Rahman
added.
Rahman’s spends quality time with his children
when in Chennai even during recordings since his
recording studio is located right opposite to
his house. So guess where the inspiration comes
from?
Adding to the delight, his songs Khalbali and
Luka chuppi from Rang De Basanti and Chan Chan
from Water have been short-listed for the Oscars
among a total of 56 songs, which obviously has
put the maestro in high spirits. Interestingly
enough, Rahman chose the songs himself that were
short-listed by the Oscar committee.
I am glad that I was able to make it to the list
of 56. It is indeed a great respect, an elated
Rahman stated.
We are glad too Rahman and it would definitely
be an honor if one of the songs manages to get
a nomination.
