This
year Bollywood will witness a lot
of experienced hands who have been
cooling their heels at home or in
the parliament, trying to make a comeback
to movies. Actors are always actors;
they find it difficult to remain away
from the spotlight. Besides they don’t
know much about anything outside movies.
Many
actors tried politics and miserably failed. Amitabh
Bacchhan is a glowing example of a Superstar who
had to bite the bitter pill in politics. Sunil
Dutt is perhaps the only actor who made his mark
in politics. Others, well they returned to the
comfortable world of make believe.
2007 will see one actor turned politician who
is now fed up of politics trying to make a return.
Garam Dharam; Dharmendra who recently announced
that he just was not able to handle the mental
pressures of politics is the candidate. Ever since
he was elected from Bikaner he has faced nothing
but criticism about his failure to live up to
the promises (which politician does). He got fed
up; proclaimed that he was being emotionally blackmailed
and signed up for a movie, clear indications of
what is on his mind. The movie that he signed
up for is titled Johnny Gaddar.
Dharmendra will be seen in the title which is
a shade negative. The title seems to suggest that
Dharmendra plays a goon, don or something on similar.
The film has got to the floors and is expected
to be ready by mid 2007.
The other veteran trying to make a comeback has
not dabbled in politics but chosen to enjoy retirement.
But as he himself admits has had to make a comeback
to earn a living. Wonder who this is, well he
is a contemporary of Dharmendra and Amitabh, Vinodh
Khanna.
He marks his comeback with Risk, scheduled for
a mid February release. He too will be seen playing
a Don. The movie is directed by Vishram Saawant
and costars Randeep Hoonda.
