Songs from Pori were screened around 9’o
clock. ‘Perundil Nee Enakku Jannal oram,
pin vaasal mutrathil thulasi maadam’ has
all the elements to become a hit. Though the other
number ‘Vedalam’ reminds one of Manmada
Raasaa of thiruda thirudi, it may not evoke the
same kind of response as the picturization, song
and the camera work were not up to the mark.
When K Rajan spoke, he almost started a controversy
when he mentioned that the unit should have invited
people from producer’s council as they are
the trouble shooters of film fraternity. Replying
to Rajan’s remark in a very diplomatic manner,
Karu Palaniappan said that they are the people
who are constantly on the move like the ‘utsava
moorthies’ in the temple while producers
are like ‘moolavars’ who sit in one
place and solve all the problems.
When Pasupathy stood up to speak, he was received
with a thunderous applause from the audience.
He received all the adulation in a very calm manner
and spoke in a simple fashion and retired.
The dignitaries who graced this function are editor
Mohan, lyricist Arivumadi. In addition, the director’s
clan was represented by S P Jananadan, Karu Palaniappan,
Ameer, Susi Ganesan, Jeyam Raja, Perarasu, Durai
and S S Stanley. The actor’s community was
marked by the presence of Dhanush, Srikanth, Karunas
and Jeyam Ravi. From the unit of Pori, director
Subramania Siva, music composer Dheena and cinematographer
Ekambaram were present. The audio was released
by the actors and was received by the directors.
All in all it was a charged atmosphere for the
team of Pori. Wishing them all the best!!!
