They were shooting at the beach at Mahabalipuram, a scene for the Satyaraj-Sibiraj starrer Kovai brothers. Sibiraj and Namitha were rolling in the surf when she issued a loud scream. The crew rushed to the spot. Namitha had lost her diamond ring worth about 1.6 lakh rupees. She was inconsolable.

"I've been wearing it for years. It was given to me by my boyfriend Kapoor. Alas, what shall I do now!" tears went down the diva's eyes. The unit people scattered about the beach looking about here and there in a gesture aimed to console the lady. Namitha called off the shooting for the day. Earlier, on the sets of Autograph, a similar incident had happened with Mallika losing her digicam. She too had cried and called off the shooting.
