What happened to Ameer - Surya - Kannabiran combo?

Ameer is visibly a happy man these days. His long two-year ordeal in the making of Paruthi Veeran has proved fruitful and the movie is a declared hit now. Paruthi Veeran highlights the folk arts of Tamil Nadu and is exceptionally doing well at the box office.

The movie has proved that folk arts always will have an audience of its own, reassures Ameer who is kicked about the performance of the movie at the box office. Ameer is relaxing in Madurai owing to a common illness and is expected to be back in Chennai soon for his next project, Kannabiran. I will decide the hero for my next project Kannabiran as soon as I am back in Chennai, he stated.
Well, did we not hear that Ameer had decided to cast Surya for his Kannabiran? Looks like Ameer has changed his decision - right after the release of Paruthi Veeran that is.
If that is not surprise enough, we got wind of the news that Ameer will play the lead in a project directed by Samuthrakani.
