Dhanush's career is currently in an upbeat mood especially after the success of Thiruvilayadal Arambam. Things have started looking up and the lanky actor has also signed a few prestigious projects. At this juncture, in the hitherto smooth sailing of events, there seems to appear a small note of discordancy.

A complaint has been lodged against him by Salem A Chandrashekar in the producer's council.A few years back Dhanush had done 'Sullan' for producer Salem A Chandrashekar. During the making of this film, he agreed to do one more film for the producer. He was also said to have accepted fifty lakhs as advance for the same purpose. But subsequently Dhanush got busier with other commitments and was not able to keep up the promise he had made to Chandrashekar. Meanwhile Chandrashekar suffered a few setbacks on the financial front and he approached Dhanush to return the money due to him. As he had not retuned the advance, Chandrashekar has taken the matter to the producer's council for an amicable settlement.
