Manmada Leelai directed by Iyakkunar Sigaram K Balachander with Kamal Hassan in the lead role was the talk of the town during those good old days. The film and the story was much too ahead of its times and recorded a good business at the box office.
Manmada Leelai earned Kamal an image of a Casanova out to woo the women folk of the town. The times are changing and this being a season of remixes and remakes; talks are going on to resurrect this film. Kalaipuli Thanu is reported to be producing this film and the name of the director has not yet been finalized.
Meanwhile from the producer's side, it has been decided to approach Ilayathalapathy Vijay to do the lead role. Producer Thanu has earlier worked with Vijay in Sachin and the duo is familiar with each other's style of functioning. According to the industry buzz, this film would have all the elements in it to be an important and significant one in Vijay's career.
