Have you noticed the performance of movies released
recently? Even the flicks of hit stars such as
Jyothika and Jeyam Ravi have performed miserably.
Eight movies were released last week and all the
eight of them were mediocre films. The trade analysts
are worried. More worried is Director Shankar
whose production company is making a couple of
films with his assistants at the helm. The auteur
called them recently and cautioned them of the
worrying trend in the industry. Said he: “Look
at the trend. Find out the pulse of today’s
moviegoer. Don’t give trash in the name
of formula. Keep your expenditure within the budget.
Bring in freshness and creativity.” They
nodded for they know his expectations even without
his telling them. Are we going to see some really
good movies rolled out of Shankar’s S Studio?
