No
matter how many Badshahs or Mangals or shirt-stripping
Khans flit through the screen, the original and
the only Shahenshah is none other than Amitabh
Bachan! One need not be a frenzied fan to say
this but there are hard core statistics to prove
the fact. In 2004 Bollywood saw investment of
Rs. 1000 crores of which there was a loss of Rs.
174 crores. In 2005, however, after his colossal
performance in four films, Sarkar, Waqt, Bunty
aur Babli and Black, these films touched a profit
of Rs. 100 crores and the total loss in the industry
was estimated at Rs. 40 crores. Man, for those
of you, who are swirling their heads counting
the zeros, suffice to say that if Amitabh is striding
the silver screen again as the master colossus,
the industry will bounce back. |

The
icon had been ailing in recent times and the
doctors had ordered complete rest for about
three months. Adarsh, a noted film critic,
has said that this is bound to adversely affect
the health of the Hindi film industry as well.
Sources close to the family say that, family
members are being quite cautious of the ace
performer’s health and they firmly reply
that it might take months for the Big B’s
arrival. ‘Hoping for his quick recovery
are not just his producers and directors,
and ad film makers, and channels but also
the ardent fans’ said Adarsh |

The
fans seem to miss his baritone voice and their
collective prayers might just make him come back
with a bang and say, Namaskar, aadab, Sat sri
akal, mein Amitabh Bachchan aapka swagat karta
hoon. Touch wood! |
